Reading about your craft is fascinating because I apply the same thinking to playing the piano. How long it takes is irrelevant: the meditation, and act of doing the craft “fills me up” as well. Your work is beautiful!

Jennifer, you are an artist! When I see your work and read this article, I feel the way I feel when I write, a joyous journey requiring mindfulness, mindlessness, and a ton of dedication :-)

I switch back and forth too. A few times a year I do what I think of as a Big Project which requires lots of thought and planning and reworking and chaos. The rest of the time it’s just mindless stitching, usually improv, for peace of mind.

There was a time in my younger days when I thought it required patience, but now stitching, whether knitting, embroidery, crochet, is comforting, meditative, and I get lost in the project. I agree with you wholeheartedly.
